INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

IARSA membership provides individuals, corporate bodies and institutions in the field of education research with access to the latest developments and the top researchers in the field. In addition, IARSA provides members with the opportunity to make a difference in education research. IARSA takes those issues that are most important to our members and brings them to the forefront of the public policy debate. Individual Membership is open for:

• College and university faculty
• Independent researchers
• PhD candidates
• Practitioners
• Employees of government, business, or non-profit organisations who are interested in research

IARSA recognises a person as its member only when he/she satisfies the ASSOCIATION’S basic criteria.
• The interested person/membership candidate is directly or indirectly related with professional or academic research.
• She/he has minimum academic capability to be involved with extensive research.
• She/he must have the mentality to serve the research journals run by the association as an editor or reviewer (if asked).
• She/he must abide by the ASSOCIATION’S code of conduct.
• She/he has properly applied for IARSA Membership with all necessary documents and she/he has got the membership approval from the authority of IARSA with a valid membership ID

Membership Application Procedures

Being a member of the IARSA offers comprehensive, timely information and perspectives that you won’t find anywhere else, along with the resources, tools and connections to help your career flourish in the research community. The interested person can apply for IARSA membership at any time during the year.

CATEGORIES OF INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

PATRON
Awarded by invitation only, Recognized as ‘Member – Governing Council’
Patron of International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (IARSA – Patron) is the senior most membership and is equivalent to be a member in Board of Directors of the Association and have the rights of voting for all discussion points of the organisation. They participate in all open symposium of the association and give their opinion for the growth of the Association and meeting its mission. Patron membership is available only by invitation.

RESEARCHER EMERITUS (REIARSA)
Awarded to Retired Researchers to continue to be active in research related activities of IARSA

Individual researchers may apply and acquire IARSA’ memberships in any one of the following grades:

The designation of Researcher Emeritus of the International Association of Research Scholars & Administrators (IARSA) marks the past accomplishments of retired researchers and to express IARSA appreciation for the willingness of those persons to continue to be active in research-related activities at IARSA.

PROCEDURE
The IARSA Board of Management confers the designation of Researcher Emeritus on the recommendation of the President, and supported by the 1st Vice President and the Executive Director of the Association.

NOMINATIONS SHOULD CITE:
• The researcher’s record as an internationally recognized scientist, scholar, and innovator as well as a contributor to international research base and to the local and national science and technology communities; and

• The researcher’s record since retirement as a scientist and contributor to international, regional and national science and technology communities or, if the researcher has recently retired, evidence of a commitment to remain active, for instance through participation in international, regional or national scientific organizations or involvement in research projects in areas related to IARSA’s programmes. Official recognition of this honorary status will take place at IARSA Board of Management meeting.

PRIVILEGES
• This honorary status is accorded for life and Researchers Emeriti have the privilege of identifying themselves by the title.

• They may also be accorded some office space and support at a level and for duration to be determined by the President. This will be linked to a formal term research appointment similar to that of a visiting scientist.

GRANT ELIGIBILITY
Access to peer-reviewed funding will be accorded at the same level offered to current IARSA researchers, subject to the rules of the relevant funding body.

CONDITIONS
• Researchers Emeriti will be allowed access to the same association’s resources (i.e. library access) as IARSA researchers
• The initial term research appointment that is tied to resources will be for a three-year term and may be renewed at the discretion of the IARSA President. These resources may include office space, and computer and phone access.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• The interpretation of this policy is the responsibility of the Executive Director.
The administration of this policy is the responsibility of the Executive Director.

SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (SFIARSA)
Open for Doctoral Degree holder FIARSA, Recognized as ‘Advisory Member of Association’

Senior Research Fellow Members of International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (SFIARSA) are equivalent to advisory members of the Association who participate and contribute in symposiums related to growth of the Association. The membership is open only to Doctoral degree holders of regionally accredited university/institutions having academic/research/industrial experience of more than 13 years and a recognizable research history in terms of research publications, books, and others.. All accepted ‘Senior Fellow Members’ are provided with “Certificate of Recognition” as “Advisory Member” in the areas of disciplines of the International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (IARSA).

RESEARCH FELLOW (FIARSA)
Open for Doctoral Degree holder, Recognized as ‘Research Guide’
The Research Fellow of International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (FIARSA) is equivalent to Certified Research Guide in the selected area of research and studies. The membership is open only to Doctoral degree holders of regionally accredited university/institutions having academic/research/industrial experience of more than 8 years and having a recognizable research history in terms of research publications, books, and others. All accepted ‘Fellow Research Members’ are provided with “Certificate of Recognition” from International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators as “Research Guide” in their chosen area of specialisation.

ASSOCIATE RESEARCH FELLOW (AFIARSA)
Open for Doctoral/Master Degree holder; Recognized as ‘Assistant Research Guide’

The Associate Research Fellow of International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (AFIARSA) is equivalent to Certified Assistant Research Guide in the selected area of research and studies. AFIARSA may be considered as co-guides with other senior guides for a research project in their fields. The membership is open only to Doctoral/Master degree holders of regionally accredited university/institutions having academic/research/industrial experience of more than 5 years or a Master degree holder with 10 years of research experience and having a recognisable research history in terms of research publications, books, and others. All accepted ‘Associate Fellow Members’ are provided with “Certificate of Recognition” from International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators as “Assistant Research Guide” in their chosen area of specialisation.

SENIOR RESEARCH MEMBER (SMIARSA)
Open for Master Degree holder; recognized as ‘Senior Research Scholar’

The Senior Research Members of International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (SMIARSA) are recognized researchers in their specialised areas of work. The membership is open only to master degree holders of regionally accredited university/institutions having academic/research/industrial experience of more than 5 years in research/academics/industry and having a recognizable research history in terms of research publications and memberships. All accepted ‘Senior Research Members’ are provided with “Certificate of Recognition” from International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators as “Senior Research Scholar” in their chosen area of specialisation.

RESEARCH MEMBER (MIARSA)
Open for Master/Bachelor Degree holder; recognized as ‘Research Scholar’

The Research Members of International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (MIARSA) are recognised researchers in their specialised areas of work. The membership is open only to master/bachelor degree holders of regionally accredited university/institutions having academic/research/industrial experience of more than 3 years in research/academics/industry and having a recognizable research history in terms of research publications, books, and others. All accepted ‘Members’ are provided with “Certificate of Recognition” from International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators as “Research Scholar” in their chosen area of specialisation.

ASSOCIATE RESEARCH MEMBER (AMIARSA)
Open for Bachelor Degree holders, Recognized as ‘Research Savvy’

The Associate Members of International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (AMIARSA) are recognised RESEARCHER SAVVY who want to build a career in research and development. The membership is open to bachelor degree holders of regionally accredited university/institutions having academic/research/industrial. All accepted ‘Associate Members’ are provided with “Certificate of Recognition” from International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators as “Research Savvy” in their chosen area of specialisation.

STUDENT MEMBER (StIARSA)
Open for Students of Graduation/Post-graduation, Recognized as ‘Young Researcher’

The Student Members of International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (StMIARSA) are recognized young researchers who are planning to build career in research and development. The membership is open to students of under graduation/post graduation programmes of regionally accredited university/institutions. All accepted ‘Student Members’ are provided with “Certificate of Recognition” from International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators as “Young Researcher” in their chosen area of specialization. Qualifications for individual members

QUALIFICATIONS FOR INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

• All individuals must possess recognised academic and professional qualifications.
• All individuals involved in education research, academics, administration and teacher training.
• An educational research and training institution, association or related organisation.
• Students in the field of research.
• A member automatically forfeits his/her membership if his/her membership fee remains in arrears for a period longer than one year.

Our initiative “Ask a Scholar” matches readers’ questions to scholars with educated answers, and we are always seeking experts who can weigh in. Often people ask us to refer them to members at a particular campus, in a particular country, or specializing in a particular field. Our members thus play an important role in influencing debates and serving as key contacts.
